Map of Sydney Australia

Looking at an online map of Sydney Australia can be confusing, as the city is very large and covers a huge area. The Sydney map on this page shows just the core of the city and a small radius of up to 10 km around it.

If you know Sydney, it is not a problem to navigate to the place you are searching for, because the layout of the urban sprawl is clear in your mind.

But if you have no idea about its suburbs (there are hundreds of them) and where they are located, then things start to get difficult.

This is why an interactive map of Sydney on google shows only a small selection of this large city:

  • Sydney and the inner city, suburbs like Pyrmont with the famous Darling Harbour, Ultimo, Paddington;
  • North Sydney and lower north shore, for example: Gladesville, Huntleys Point, Lane Cove;
  • The eastern suburbs and the ones with beaches, such as Manly, Bondi Beach, Tamarama or Bronte;
  • The inner west: Drummoyne, Leichhardt, Burwood are just some of the many there.

Have a play and zoom in and out by clicking on the the "+" and "-" signs at the top left of the map, under the arrows). When you zoom in you will get the street view and can see the street numbers.

Click on the satellite imagery and see the buildings. So if you are looking for one of the Sydney attractions you will have a clear image on your screen before you get to the actual place.

For example zoom in where you see the words "The Rocks" on the map and move your cursor to the right till you see an image of the Opera House.

And here is where you can find interesting information about Sydney Rocks or the opera.
