Universities in Australia

> >Unis in Oz

Universities in Australia have a strong reputation of providing high standards of tertiary education.

Students can go for a 3 year degree or take up double degrees.

Like elsewhere, some studies take much longer.

For example to become a medical doctor.

And it is not easy to get into medical school as a first time student.

You need to have been an excellent student during your whole study time to be able to achieve top marks when you graduate school.

But Australian universities are very flexible and there are multiple pathways to study for your dream occupation.

For example after you get your 3 year degree you can enrol to study medicine as a postgraduate student.

TAFE, which stands for Technical and Further Education, is a widely recognised institution in Australia. It can provide an alternative to tertiary education, or just additional studies that help you with a career.

You can enrol after you finish year 10 or 12, depending on the course you want to attend.

Or you can attend TAFE as a mature age student. The variety of courses is just overwhelming. There's something for everyone.

And there is a lot of flexibility with how you study. You can attend classes or choose distance education.
