I can't believe it is already May. Almost half of the year is gone.
But with the approach of the winter, Sydney heads into party and play mode. May was the month of the Mother's Day with great family time, flowers, chocolates, long lunches and gifts. And the end of May marks the beginning of the Vivid Festival, which is a one of the great tourist attractions in Sydney.
This year the organisers of the Vivid Festival came with a very different concept. The Opera did not put on bright colours. It was rather sober, mostly gray, brown and green as it featured giant figures moving around the sails. Very original, though different from what we got used to by the light shows of the previous years. See some images here and compare with the last year.
The Vivid Festival continues until June 11. Here are some of the other things to do in Sydney in June and some more images of the lights on the Customs House and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
