We've had a very wet start of the summer this year. Actually not too much of a summer. Rain, rain and more rain. Quite unusual for Sydney weather.

January 26 was Australia Day and people took to the beach despite the weather forecast. It is an outdoor event that celebrates Australian lifestyle. So beaches or cruises on the harbour are the way to go.

More than 13,000 people became Australian citizens on 26 January. Citizenship ceremonies were held around the country.
