Desert Palms Resort Alice Springs

Desert Palms Resort Alice Springs is a nice oasis in the capital of the red desert.

It is a 3.5 star resort close to the golf club and nice restaurants. It has studio villas that can accommodate a couple or a family with children.

We stayed there for a week in August and found it pleasant, convenient and very private.

The resort has its own shuttle going to and from the airport, which is a more convenient option than using the airport buses or taxis.

Villas have an ensuite and a kitchenette with basic equipment: microwave, kettle, cups, plates, glasses and cutlery.

There is reverse air conditioning, so those winter nights are nice and cosy when you turn the heating on.

Housekeeping is provided daily and includes fresh supplies of tea, milk and instant coffee. Check here for more reviews about the resort.

Villas have floor to ceiling sliding glass doors that open in to a verandah. You can have your coffee or a quick breakfast in the morning or can sip a glass of wine, gazing at the myriad of stars at night.

But the palms that grow in front of each verandah provide enough privacy.

You don’t need to bring your own towel as they are provided at the pool.

There were some brave swimmers, while we were there in August, but the water was rather cold.

The resort is on Barrett Drive, 20 minutes walk from the city centre. There is plenty to do just around the corner. During the day you can:

  • visit the Alice Springs golf course next door,
  • cross the street and walk along the dry bed of Todd River,
  • head to the Olive Pink Botanic Garden, at the end of the street, to see some of the rare species of plants in Central Australia.

At night walk to the Casino or the Hanuman restaurant at Crown Plaza. They are along the same street. Or call a taxi and go to the other fine restaurants in Alice Springs.

But if you booked a tour to Uluru or Kings Canyon you will have your dinner watching the sunset against the picturesque backdrops of these unique land structures.

Check rates and availability and make your reservation for your holiday at Desert Palms resort right now.

Enjoy your stay.
