January is the month when Sydney Festival rocks the city with open concerts, theatre performances and various other cultural events. The first night, free for anyone to join, was packed with shows across Hyde Park, Martin Place and Domain.

And as we mentioned the word "rocks" here is more about the suburb with the same name - The Rocks. There are so many things that you can do there: enjoy gourmet food at one of the numerous pubs, cafes or restaurants, shop branded stuff in luxurious outlets or some crafts or home made produce at market stalls.

The Opera House is just around the corner. Here are some facts about it and how its construction unfolded from plans to reality.

And while you are in the Rocks you can hop on one of the many Sydney ferries that join the City to some of the nicest suburbs in Sydney.

One of these is Manly, with its many beaches, some on the harbour side and others on the ocean side.

The best time to go to the beach is summer. See more about some cool events that take place during the hot months.

Climate in Sydney is great during autumn and sometimes better for a day at the beach, not that hot any more.

Winter in Sydney is fresh and good to keep on with an outdoor lifestyle.
