Food Activities in Sydney Australia

Do you fancy activities in Sydney Australia associated to food? The Crave International Food Festival is one of the Sydney events that makes the city so appealing to its residents and tourists.

You have to be there in October for the festival, which is a great event dedicated to food from all around the world.

Here are some of the cool activities:

  • Famous chefs share their passion for cooking. They make mouth watering dishes that look stunning and are extremely difficult to replicate by us, ordinary folks.
  • Growers bring their fresh produce to stalls at Pyrmont Bay Park close to Darling Harbour, every first Saturday of the month, in the mornings. And of course there are cooking shows.
  • The Harbour Bridge closes one Sunday in October for the Breakfast on the Bridge experience. People bring their picnic rugs and food basket to have breakfast with great views.

Check the video to see how traffic was stopped to get Sydney-siders to spend a great rainy morning on the Bridge.

  • Various food festivals happen across many suburbs that have a rich tradition of ethnic food.

    For zesty, yummy, luscious and memorable eats go to:
    • Strathfield for Korean, Chinese and Indian tastes;
    • Leichhardt for Italian pizza and pasta;
    • Ashfield for Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai flavours;
    • Summer Hill for Egyptian, Turkish, Lebanese bites;
    • Auburn for Middle Eastern and South East Asian food.

  • The Rocks Markets are becoming the new destination for cheese, with producers coming from New South Wales and other states to promote their cheese platters.
